Walsall Deaf Community Services provides specialist training in Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language from NVQ Level 1 through to NVQ Level 6 Language Development and up to Level 6 Interpreting.
Level 6 Language Development
We follow Signature’s qualification scheme, which is designed to enable learners to be able to work professionally with Deaf people or for those who aspire to work in these contexts such as Teachers of the Deaf (TOD), social worker, trainee interpreter, working within Deaf organisations, schools, etc
The qualification is split into two units, BSL601 and BSL602, each can be achieved separately.
To achieve the full Level 6 NVQ Certificate in British Sign Language, students must pass all the units.
