About BSL Level 1
We follow Signature’s qualification scheme, which is designed to enable learners to communicate with deaf people in BSL on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language use.
The qualification is split into three units, BSL101 / BSL102 / BSL103, each can be achieved separately.
To achieve the full Level 1 Award in British Sign Language, students must pass all the units.
|BSL101||Introduction to BSL||Practical assessment of skills||Internally with the teacher|
|BSL102||Conversational BSL||Conversation in BSL||Externally assessed with a Signature assessor|
|BSL103||Communication in BSL about Everyday Life||Conversation in BSL||Externally assessed with a Signature assessor|
